Introduction
This manual describes the "COGO" program of the
TPS SYSTEM 1000 theodolite series.
The following provides a general overview of the
individual COGO functions.
The "Inverse" routine computes the direction and
distance between two points.
The "Traverse" routine computes a new coordinate
point given a direction and distance from a known point
(Polar plotting).
The "Intersections" routine computes:
• Bearing-Bearing intersections,
• Bearing-Distance intersections or
• Distance-Distance intersections.
The function "Offsets" consists of the following
subfunctions:
• "Distance point straight line"
Calculates the difference in length/abscissa and the
lateral deviation/ordinate with reference to a basis
line emanating from a known point.
• "Orthogonal point calculation"
A new point can be calculated which emanates from
a basis line using the difference in length/abscissa
and the lateral deviation/ordinate.
The "Point Arc" routine computes a radius point given
any three points.
