Configuration of New Boards
If your IVP4 board is new and is still packed in the factory box, take note
Of the type of switch and the factory switch settings. The board should be
shipped from the factory with the switches correctly set for use as board 1
(the first board in the system). If the board has rocker switches, it is
always configuration
A
as shown in Figure 2-26. If the board has slide
switches, it will have one of the configurations
(B
or
C)
shown in Figure
2-26. Mark the board with a small label to indicate whether configuration
A, B,
or
C
is used. If you do not mark the board, it maybe difficult to
determine the correct configuration for future changes.
NOTE:
Verify that the factory switch settings match one of the
configurations shown in Figure 2-26. If the settings do not match,
see Determining the IVP4 Board Configuration by Testing later in
this chapter.
