2. Check:
• brake shoe lining surface
Glazed areas → Remove.
Use coarse sandpaper.

After using sandpaper, wipe off the polished
particles with a cloth.
3. Measure:
• brake shoe lining thickness
Out of specification → Replace.
Measuring points
TIP
Replace the brake shoes as a set if either is
found to be worn to the wear limit.
Brake lining thickness
3.5 mm (0.14 in)
<Limit>: 2.0 mm (0.08 in)

CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE DRUMS
The following procedure applies to each brake.
1. Measure:
• brake drum inside diameter
Out of specification → Replace.
Front brake drum inside diameter
Front: 95.0 mm (3.74 in)
<Limit>: 96.0 mm (3.78 in)
