Purpose
Determines the number of channels contained in the
channelString
.
You need to know the number of channels in the
channelString
so that you can interpret (for
analog input) or build (for analog output) waveform arrays correctly.

Specifies whether the
channelString
is
ANALOG_INPUT or ANALOG_OUTPUT.
