Quality of Service (QoS): Managing Bandwidth More Effectively
Differentiated Services Codepoint (DSCP) Mapping
Table 5-10. Error Messages Generated by DSCP Policy Changes
Example of Changing the Priority Setting on a Policy
When One or More Classifiers Are Currently Using the Policy
Suppose that codepoint 000001 is in use by one or more classifiers. If you try
to change its priority, you see a result similar to the following:
Figure 5-17. Example of Trying To Change the Priority on a Policy In Use by a
Classifier
In this case, you would use steps similar to the following to change the priority.
1. Identify which classifiers use the codepoint you want to change.
Cannot modify DSCP Policy < codepoint > - in
use by other qos rules.
You have attempted to map a QoS classifier to
a codepoint that is already in use by other QoS
classifiers. Before remapping the codepoint
to a new priority, you must reconfigure the
other QoS classifiers so that they do not use
this codepoint. You can have multiple QoS
classifiers use this same codepoint as long as
it is acceptable for all such classifiers to use
the same priority.
