Step 1
Mount the control box using the screws (provided) or another
secure mounting method. The control box must be mounted
at least 3 feet above the ground to protect it from rain splash,
snow, etc., and at least 3 feet from an AC power source to
prevent electrical interference.
Step 2
Temporarily mount the receiver at this time. You will need to
use the transmitter (page 17) to check the range of the receiver
before permanently mounting it. You may have to try dierent
locations before permanently mounting the receiver. The
receiver range can vary from 50 to 100 feet depending upon
weather, topography, and external interference.
Mount the receiver:
•Ensuringaline-of-sightbetweentransmitterand
antenna.
•Atleast3feetawayfromACvoltage.
• Ashighaspossibleforoptimumrange.
• DONOTmountreceiverupsidedown.
•DONOTmountreceiveronmetalfenceorpost(thiswill
decrease signal range). If attaching receiver to metal
fence, you should mount receiver on a piece of wood
attached to the fence (see illustration).
The receiver cable:
• Cablelengthis10ft.(receiverswithlongercablesare
available as special order items; call the GTO Sales
Department).
