Parent Unit
The Parent unit uses rechargeable batteries. These are already installed, but
first they must be charged for at least 12 hours as follows:
• Connect the AC power adapter (2-14) to a standard household
electrical outlet, and then connect the cord from the AC power
adapter to the DC power jack (2-13) of the charging base (2-8).
• Place the Parent unit inside the charging base. The red light (2-1) on
the charging base lights.
The Parent unit can be operated now but you should leave it in the
charging base so that the batteries are fully charged (12 to 14 hours). The
unit operates on AC power while in the charging base. If there is an AC
power failure, the batteries take over.
When the batteries are fully charged, the Parent unit can be taken out of
the charging base and used cordlessly for up to 12 hours.
Charging the batteries
The red power light (2-3) on the Parent unit flashes when the battery
power is low.
Note
For maximum battery life make sure that the rechargeable batteries are
fully discharged before charging.
The rechargeable batteries are easily recharged via the charging base as
follows:
• Make sure that the AC power adapter is connected to the charging
base.
• Place the Parent unit inside the charging base; the batteries start to
recharge (the red light on the charging base lights).
Fully discharged batteries take about 12 to 14 hours to fully charge.
Note
The red light (2-1) on the charging base always lights when the Parent
unit is placed correctly in the charging base.

Pour répondre à votre bébé
Pour rassurer votre bébé, vous pouvez lui parler en utilisant l’unité parents.
Pour utiliser cette fonction bidirectionnelle:
• Réglez les deux unités comme décrit dans le chapitre précédent,
pour surveiller les bruits de bébé.
• Allumez le haut-parleur de l’unité bébé (1-5) en utilisant la
commande de volume On-Off (1-6) et réglez le volume à mi-course
environ (5).
• Tenez enfoncé le bouton “Talk” (2-10) de l’unité parents et parlez
clairement dans le microphone (2-2).
• Relâchez le bouton “Talk” dès que vous avez fini.
Tout ce que vous dites est transmis de l’unité parents au haut-parleur de
l’unité bébé. Réglez le volume du haut-parleur de l’unité bébé (1-5) au
niveau souhaité en utilisant la commande de volume On/Off (1-6) de
l’unité bébé.
NB
Pendant que vous enfoncez le bouton “Talk” de l’unité parents, le signal
provenant de l’unité bébé ne peut pas être entendu sur l’unité parents.
Interphone bidirectionnel
Quand vos enfants seront grands, et que vous ne devrez plus utiliser cet
appareil comme babyphone, vous pourrez l’utiliser comme interphone
bidirectionnel. Pour ce faire, réglez les unités comme vous pourriez le faire
pour parler à votre bébé. A présent, coupez la fonction d’écoute en réglant
l’interrupteur On/Off (1-8) de l’unité bébé sur Off.
Pour utiliser l’unité parents comme interphone:
• Tenez enfoncé le bouton “Talk” (2-10) de l’unité parents et parlez
clairement dans le microphone (2-2).
• Lâchez ce bouton dès que vous aurez fini.
Pour utiliser l’unité bébé comme interphone:
• Tenez enfoncé le bouton “Talk” (1-4) de l’unité bébé et parlez
clairement dans le microphone (1-1).
• Lâchez ce bouton dès que vous aurez fini.
NB
Si l’on pousse le bouton “Talk” d’une des unités, il est impossible
d’entendre un signal provenant de l’autre unité. En d’autres mots, une
seule personne peut parler à la fois.
