Baby Room Temperature
The Baby unit has a thermometer that measures the temperature in the
room. The approximate room temperature, in °F, is indicated by a change
in color.
Belt clip
When the batteries of the Parent unit are charged, the unit can be carried
around giving you freedom of movement while still monitoring your baby.
Use the belt clip (2-12) to attach the unit to you clothing and so keep your
hands free. The belt clip can be removed by unclipping the top and sliding
it downwards.
Saving Power
To save power, the Baby unit can be switched off by setting the unit’s On/
Off switch (1-8) to the Off position.
To save power, the Parent unit can be switched off by setting the unit’s
Volume control On/Off switch (2-6) to the Off position.
Replacing the Rechargeable Batteries
The rechargeable batteries of the Parent unit are very energy efficient and
cost effective, and can be used for a long time. However, when they begin
to lose their effectiveness they should be replaced as follows:
• Remove the battery compartment cover (2-9) by unscrewing the
small screw and unclipping. Remove the old batteries and dispose of
them in an environmentally friendly manner.
• Put the four new 1.2V, AA NiCd batteries inside the Parent unit as
outlined inside the compartment. Clip the cover back in place and
secure the small screw.
IMPORTANT!
Use rechargeable NiCd (4 x 1.2V, AA) batteries only for the Parent
unit. Do not use any other type of battery.

COMMENT PRÉPARER LES UNITES
Tout d’abord, il faut alimenter les unités en courant. Tant l’unité bébé que
l’unité parents peuvent être alimentées par piles ou par adaptateurs c.a.
(pour identifier les éléments numérotés, consultez la figure 1 pour l’unité
bébé et la figure 2 pour l’unité parents.)
Unité Bébé
Pour alimenter l’unité bébé, vous pouvez:
• raccorder l’adaptateur c.a. (1-12) à une prise électrique domestique
standard, puis raccorder le cordon de l’adaptateur c.a. au jack
d’alimentation c.c. (1-7) de l’unité bébé
ou
• enlever le couvercle du compartiment des piles (1-10) en dévissant
la petite vis et en la détachant. Disposez quatre piles AA de 1,5 V
(non comprises) dans l’unité bébé comme dessiné dans le
compartiment. Replacez le couvercle et fixez-le.
Si on a inséré des piles et si l’adaptateur c.a. est raccordé, l’unité utilise
l’alimentation c.a. S’il y a une panne d’alimentation c.a., les piles prennent
le relais.
L’unité bébé fonctionne sans fil pendant 30 heures si les piles sont fraîches.
Le témoin rouge d’alimentation (1-2) de l’unité bébé clignote si les piles
viennent à faiblir. Si c’est le cas, installez des piles fraîches.
IMPORTANT!
Remplacez toujours les piles de l’unité bébé par des piles similaires
(4 x 1.5V, AA).
Si vous n’utilisez pas les piles de l’unité bébé longtemps, enlevez-les.
