proper angle of recline, place a rolled
towel, or car seat noodle, under the
base at the foot end to achieve the
correct position. (Fig. 48-1)
2. Safety Seat without Base: Check
that the Safety Seat is level side to side
on the vehicle seat. Check the level
indicator as shown in Fig. 46-2.
• If the Seat Angle Indicator shows NO
red, the seat is installed at the proper
level of recline.
• If the Seat Angle Indicator shows ANY
red, the Safety Seat is either too upright
or too reclined. If the Safety Seat is
too reclined adjust the Safety Seat as
shown in Fig. 48-2 until the level indicator
shows NO red. If the Safety Seat is too
upright, place a tightly rolled towel, or
car seat noodle, under the foot end of
the Safety Seat until the level indicator
shows NO red. (Fig. 48-3) Re-tighten the
vehicle seat belt as instructed in section
Securing the Safety Seat or Base in
the Vehicle.
