Beforeperforminganymaintenance,adjustmentorserviceverifythatOn/Offswitchon
thejoystickisintheOffposition.
ALWAYSwearyourseatpositioningstrap.Theseatpositioningstrapisapositioningbelt
only.Itisnotdesignedforuseasasafetydevicewithstandinghighstressloadssuchas
autooraircraftsafetybelts.Ifsignsofwearappear,beltmustbereplacedimmediately.
Withregardstoseat/chestpositioningstraps‐itistheobligationoftheDMEdealer,
therapistsandotherhealthcareprofessionalstodetermineifaseat/chestpositioningstrap
isrequiredtoensurethesafeoperationofthisequipmentbytheuser.Seriousinjurycan
occurintheev entofafallfromawheelchair.
Avoidstoringorusingthewheelchairnearopenflameorcombustibleproducts.Serious
injuryordamagetopropertymayresult.
A Note About Drive Lock-Out
NEVERoperatethewheelchairwhilethebackisinanyreclined/backanglepositionover
20°relativetotheverticalposition.Ifthedrivelock‐outdoesnotstopthewheelchairfrom
operatinginarecline/backanglepositionover20°relativetotheverticalposition,DO
NOToperatethewheelchair.DONOTattempttoadjustthedrivelock‐out.Havethe
wheelchairservicedbyaqualifiedtechnician.
ThewheelchairuserMUSThaveaclearlineofsighttodrivesafely.Oninitialchair
deliveryandafteradjustingthebackangleordrivelock‐outswitch,reclinetheseatback
tothefarthestdrivingpositionimmediatelybeforedrivelock‐outengagesandensure
thereisaclearline ofsightpresentinwhichtodrivethewheelchair.Ifaclearlineofsight
isnotpresent,havethebackanglerepositionedorreadjustthelockoutanglesuchthat
safedrivingwithaclearlineofsightisachieved.Otherwiseinjuryordamagemayoccur.
Oneofthefollowingwilloccurwhenthedrivelock‐outfeaturehasbeenactivated:
• ƽTILTWARNINGdisplaysonthejoystickordisplayunit.
•
ƽSPMInhibiteddisplaysonthejoystickordisplayunit.
•SPJ+joysticksOnly‐Lefttorightchasealternatingwithasteadydisplay.
Drivelock‐outisafeaturedesignedtopreventthewheelchairfrombeingdrivenafterthe
seatingsystemhasbeenreclinedbeyond20°*relativetotheverticalposition.Theback
canbepositionedata10°relativeoffsettotheseatbase,therebyresultinginabackangle
potentialof30°beforewhichthedrivelock‐outisactivated.Thismayaffectthe
wheelchairuser’slineofsightwhiledriving.Makesurethewheelchairusercansee
properlytoensuresafedriving.
