Introduction
ThePowerandSleepController(PSC)isresponsibleformanagingtransitionsofsystempoweron/off,
clockon/off,andreset.TheDM643xDMPonlyutilizestheclockgatingfeatureofthePSCforpower
savings.ThePSCconsistsofaGlobalPSC(GPSC)andasetofLocalPSCs(LPSCs).TheGPSC
containsmemorymappedregisters,PSCinterruptcontrol,andastatemachineforeach
peripheral/module.AnLPSCisassociatedwitheachperipheral/moduleandprovidesclockandreset
control.Figure6-1showshowthePSCisintegratedonthedevice.ManyoftheoperationsofthePSCare
transparenttosoftware,suchaspower-onandhardresetoperations.However,thePSCprovidesyou
withaninterfacetocontrolseveralimportantpower,clock,andresetoperations.Thepower,clock,and
resetoperationsarethefocusofthischapter.
