• Makesure t helocations youselect donot concealstuds, elec-

rical w iringor plumbing.Prior toinstallation, holdthe speaker
in yourchosen locationto makesure i tsafely clearsobstacles
such asstuds, corners,beams, lightingfixtures anddoor/win-
dow frames.Your cutoutmust beat least1" (25mm)from
adjoining wallsor c eiling,internal studsor plumbing.
• U singthe template,trace theinstallation locationwith apen-
cil. Youcan dothis byholding thetemplate inyour preferred
location andtracing aroundit ( rectangle)
or withinthe templatepop-out area(round). Usea levelto
make certainthe templateis straightand p lumb.This isthe
exact cutoutsize [figures10a &10b].
SUIVEZ CES SIMPLES ÉTAPE:

technique pourle poidsdu modèlede voshaut-parleurs).
• A ssurez-vousque l’endroitchoisi pourl’installation muralene
dissimule pasde m ontantsou desolives, defils électriquesou
de plomberie.Avantson installation,tenez lehaut-parleur à
l’endroit c hoisipour vousassurer qu’ilsoit suffisamment
dégagé duplafond, desmurs, descoins, despoutres, deslumi-
naires e tdes cadresde porteset defenêtres. L’embrasure doit
être àau m oins1 pouce(25mm) dumur oudu plafondadja-
cent, d’unmontant oud’une solive,ou deplomberie.
• Àl’aided ugabarit,tracezl’endroitdel’installationavecuncrayon.
V ouspouvezaccomplircettetâcheentenantlegabaritsurl’endroit
choisietentraçantautour(rectangle)ouentraçantàl’intérieurdela
zonedétachabledugabarit(rond).Utilisezunniveaupourvousassurer
quelegabaritestbiendroitetdeniveau.C’estlagrandeurexactede
l’embrasure [figures10a&10b].
• Carefullycutthe holewith theappropriate cuttingtoolfor your
wallor ceilingmaterial. Startthe holebydrilling ahole onthe
insideof thetracing (withthe drillbittouching theline). Use
thishole toinsert thesaw orknifeand begincutting [figure11].
• O nceyou havecut thehole, fishyour previouslypositioned
wiring outof thehole a ndconnect thespeaker. Followthe
hookup directionsincluded withyour receiver. Strip 2 inch(12
mm) o finsulation fromeach ofthe twoconductors ofthe wire
to exposethe baremetal andtwist eachof theconductors into
a s ingleunfrayed strand(so youhave twounfrayed strands).
Note t hatone ofthe terminalson therear ofeach speakeris
red ( +)and theother isblack (-).Make certainthat youconnect
the w irefrom thered terminal(+) ofyour amplifieror receiver
to thered terminal(+) o nyour speakerand thewire fromthe
black t erminal(-) ofyour amplifieror receiverto theblack ter-
minal (-)on y ourspeaker. Mostwire hassome indicator(such
as color-coding, ribbingor writing)on oneof t hetwo conduc-
tors tohelp youmaintain consistency[figure 12].
• Découpezsoigneusementl’embrasure avecl’outil appropriéau
matériaude votremur ouplafond. Commencezl’opérationen
faisantun trouà l’intérieurdu traçage(lamèche touchantle
traçage).Utilisez cetrou pourinsérer lascieou lecouteau et
commencerle découpage [figure11].
• U nefois l’embrasurepratiquée, sortez-enle câbleprécédem-
ment installéet connectez-leau haut-parleur. Suivezles
instructions deraccordement fourniesavec votrerécepteur.
Retirez 1 2mm (1/2po) d’isolationde chacundes deuxconduc-
teurs p ourexposer lesbrins métalliqueset tordezles brinsde
chaque conducteurpourformer deux toronsnonéraillés. Notez
qu’une desbornes àl’arrière dechaque haut-parleurest rouge
(+) etl’autre noire(-). Assurez-vousde bienraccorder lefil
provenant dela bornerouge (+)de votreamplificateur /récep-
teur àla bornerouge (+)de votrehaut-parleur etle filnoir (-)
provenant dela bornenoire (-)de votreamplificateur/récepteur
à l aborne noire(-) devotre haut-parleur. Lapolarité dela plu-
part desfils àdeux conducteursest codée(couleur, nervureou
écriture) pourfaciliter sonidentification [figure12].
