Engine Air Cleaner/Filter
The engine air cleaner/filter is in the engine
compartment on the driver’s side of the vehicle. See
Engine Compartment Overview on page 5-12 for more
information on location.
When to Inspect the Engine Air
Cleaner/Filter
If you are driving in dusty/dirty conditions, inspect the air
cleaner/filter at each engine oil change. Replace the
filter every 30,000 miles (48 000 km) or 24 months,
whichever occurs first. See Part A: Scheduled
Maintenance Services on page 6-4 for more information.
How to Inspect the Engine Air
Cleaner/Filter
To inspect the air cleaner/filter remove the filter from the
vehicle and lightly shake the filter to release loose
dust and dirt. If the filter remains caked with dirt, a new
filter is required.

the following:
1. Release the two clips that hold the cover down.
2. Lift the cover off.
