Makesureyourtapedeckisnotinrecord,record-pause
orinputmonitormodewhenyouengagethisswitch,
ormakesurethetapeinlevelknobisfullycounter-
clockwise(off).

16. Mono Level

melting.Justreachforthisknobandturnitdown
abit.Justthethingforsendingmonosignalstomic
inputslikecamcorders,telephoneinterfaceboxes,even
answeringmachines.Withthepotallthewayup(fully
clockwise),you’llhave6dBofextragain,withunity
gainhalfwaybetweentheoneandtwoo’clockpositions.
17. Voltage Selector
Locatedonthebottompanel,isavoltageselector
switch.
WARNING: Beforeyouplugthe
ACpowercordintothe1604VLZ4,
youmustmakesurethatthisslide
switchissettothesamevoltageasthelocal
ACmainssupply.Onlyslidethevoltageswitch
withthepowercordunplugged.
Useaatheadedscrewdrivertoslidetheswitch
ifneeded.Theswitchallowsyoutousethemixerin
differentcountriesandvoltages,meetinteresting
peoplefromothercultures,andentertainthem.
18. Power Connection
Justincaseyoulosethecordprovidedwiththe
1604VLZ4,itspowerjackacceptsastandard3-prong
IECcordlikethosefoundonmostprofessional
recorders,musicalinstruments,andcomputers.
