Clutch adjustment
1. Remove the footboard. (See page 8-8.)
2. Loosen the locknut.
3. Slowly turn the adjusting bolt counter-
clockwise until resistance is felt. Then,
turn it 1/8 turn clockwise.

4. Tighten the locknut to specification.
NOTE:

Turn the adjusting bolt counterclockwise to
decrease the clutch free play and turn it clock-
wise to increase the free play.

5. Install the footboard.

Cable inspection and lubrication
Tightening torque:
15 Nm (1.5 m·kgf, 11 ft·lbf)
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Damaged control cables.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Corrosion can result when the outer
covering of control cables becomes
damaged. Cables can also become
frayed or kinked. Operation of controls
could be restricted, which could cause
an accident or injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Inspect cables frequently. Replace dam-
aged cables.
