4.2 Installing the Hardware
You can install the Serial Host Adapter in any of the PCI expansion slots. It
contains several jumper straps for each port that you must set for proper
operation.
1. Power off the PC. Disconnect the power cord.
2. Remove the PC cover.
3. Locate an available PCI slot and remove the blank metal slot cover.
4. Gently insert the Adapter into the slot. Make sure that it is seated properly.
5. Connect the DB78 male connector end of the octopus cable to the DB78
female connector on the card.
6. Replace the screw.
7. Replace the cover.
8. Connect the power cord.
