Set

the camera viewfinder,

to
determine
aperture for a correct background exposure, then
set the aperture
on

TTL

take
the

hot.
With a strongly backlit subject
(e.g.

sun),
it
may
be
difficu

to
obtain desired

s case,
use
the
S8·20
in
M
mode.

In A Mode
1.
Determine correct aperture for
the
ba
ckl
it
subject
(acco
rding
to method
on
page 25)
by
referring
to
the
S8·20's aperture
se
lection/distance range panel,
then set both the
ape
rture index
and
the aperture
on
the
lens.
2. Frame the background
in
the camera viewfinder
and
turn
on
camera meter to determine proper shutter
speed for the aperture set
on
the lens.

shutter
speed must
be
equal
to
or slower than
the
flash sync
spee
d-without
a proper shutter speed

Set

shutter speed from step 2

camera's

utter speed dial.

Set
the
flash mode

lector to A, turn
on
the flash
unit
and
take
the
shot.

photography
in
M mode.
