Ensure that the memory module or Intel
®
RAID Portable Cache Module 2 is present
and seated firmly in the DIMM socket.
5. Install the RAID Controller SRCSAS18E
Select a x8 PCI Express* slot and align the controller’s PCI Express bus connector to
the slot. Press down gently but firmly to ensure that the card is properly seated in the
slot, as shown in Figure 2. Secure the bracket to the computer chassis.

6. Connect SAS or SATA Devices to the Storage Adapter
Use SAS cables to connect SAS or SATA devices to the RAID Controller
SRCSAS18E. See “SAS Features“ on page 5 and “SAS Device Cables“ on page 12
for SAS cable information. See “Connecting the SAS RAID Controller to Hard Disk
Drives and Expanders“ on page 15 for details about connecting the controller to hard
disk drives and expanders.
