This troubleshooting guide assumes the user’s familiarity with the MV3500T satellite TV antenna and any re-
ceiver set-up requirements. For any questions please refer to Pages 3-4 in the
MV3500T Operation manual and
Pages 5-8 in the MV3500T Installation Manual. Including: Checking for LNBF Voltage, Proper Dip Switch Set-
tings, Checking for an Unobstructed Sky and Verifying that the unit is Level.
Start
Does the unit
move when you
turn it on?
No Yes
Does the light on
the wall plate
come on?
No Yes
Do you have 12VDC
to wires on back of
switch?
No Yes
Verify that the 12VDC
wires are connected
as shown in the
Installation section of
the manual.
Connect the switch
directly to a good,
fully charged 12VDC
battery.
Does the dish rotate
once and pause slightly
with the LNBF over the
Electronics?
No Yes
Do you have power
getting to the
electronics under
the dome?
Yes No
Is the fuse on the
underside of the
electronics good?
No Yes
Check for a problem
with the power wires
between the switch
and the Dome.
Replace the 7.5
amp Fuse.
Disconnect the
Azimuth motor from
the electronics. Does
this allow it to move?
No Yes
After reconnecting the
Azimuth motor, check
the elevation motor?
No Yes
Replace the
electronics.
Replace the
elevation motor.
Replace the
Azimuth motor.
Does the dish start
moving again?
No Yes
Does the Elevation
motor continue to run
after the unit stops
moving?

Check the
elevation limit
switch, is it
connected?

Is the GPS antenna
connected to the
electronics?

Reconnect the GPS
antenna.
Reconnect the
elevation limit switch.
Check for a damaged
section on the limit
switch wire.
Is the limit switch
wire damaged?

Replace the limit
switch wire.
With the power off,
will the Elevation
Drive Screw rotate in
its mounting?
Yes No
Tighten the nut on the
lower end of the drive
screw.
Replace the
Electronics.
Disconnect the
antenna. Is the center
wire of the GPS cable
bent?
No Yes
Is the GPS cable
damaged or pinched
anywhere along its
length?
No Yes
Straighten the
wire and
reconnect the
cable.
Reconnect the
GPS antenna.
Is the GPS antenna
Installing in the open 3
feet from any obstruction?
No Yes
Move the GPS
antenna to an
open area on
the road.
Replace the GPS
antenna.
If the unit still will not
move, leave it on for 10
minutes. If it does not
move again, replace
the GPS Receiver.
Light has burned
out. Replace the
switch if desired.

Is the limit switch

Reconnect the

coax connected to
the LNBF?

Check the Coax of
every connection until
you find where you are
losing this voltage.
Replace the
Elevation motor.

motor move easily by
hand when the unit is
powered off?

Connect the
power directly to
a Good, Fully
