Setting Receive Polling
1 Lift the handset or press OHD/V.Req and enter
the telephone number of the remote machine.
The remote machine must be in Send Polling
state.
2 Press Advanced FAX when you hear a fax tone
from the remote machine.
The display shows ‘RECEIVE POLLING?’.
3 Press Start/Enter.
Your machine starts to retrieve the document.
Note
You cannot receive a document if the machine you are poll-
ing uses a Poll Code.
Not all fax machines have polling capability, and polling
incompatibility sometimes occurs between fax machines
made by different manufacturers. Therefore, polling may
fail in some cases, even when poll code is not used.
