MOUNTING
TheAtrium’sbracket allowsittobe mountedeitherhorizontally or
verticallyand aimedtodeliverthe bestpossiblesound inavariety
ofsituations. Followthestepsbelow tosafelysecure thebrackets
andspeakers.
Installationof AtriumSeriesLoudspeakersrequires basicskillsin
usingtools suchasadrill andscrewdriver.Ifyou areindoubt that
youpossess thenecessaryskillsor tools,consultyour P olkAudio
dealer,or aprofessionalinstaller .
1 . Makesurethematerial onwhichyouplan tomountthe speakers
(plaster,drywall, paneling,stone,etc.)can supporttheweight
ofthe speakers(Atrium60=approx.11.8LBS-5.4kg ea).
2. Makesurethe locationsyouselectdo notconceal
electricalwiring orplumbing.
3. Priortoinstallation, h oldthespeaker inthechosen locationto
makesure itsafelyclearsobstacles suchasceiling, adjacent
walls,corners, beams,lightingfixturesand door/windowframes.
INSTALLATION

antes pourinstaller le s upportet l’enceinte de façon sécuritaire.
L’installation des enceintesde laSérie Atrium requiertune com-
pétence techniquerudimentaire et desoutils ordinaires(tournevis
et perceuse).Si vous necroyez pasêtre assez habileou ne pos-
sédez pasles outils nécessaires,consultez votrerevendeur Polk
ou uninstallateur professionnel.
1. Assurez-vous que lematériau sur lequelvous comptez
installer vosenceintes (plâtre, placoplâtre,lambris, pierre,
etc.) peutsupporter le poidsdes enceintes ( Atrium60=
approx. 11,8lb / 5 ,4kg ch.).
2. Assurez-vous que l’endroitchoisi ne dissimule
pas defils électriques oude plomberie.
4. Usingthe keyholeslots inthebracket asatemplate, markthe
installationlocation ofthe twokeyholeslots witha pencil.Y ou
cando thisby removingthebracket knobson thetopand bottom
ofthe speakerand removingthebracket, orby leavingthebra-
cketconnected tothe speaker[figure9]. Orientthe bracketso
thatthe smallends ofthekeyhole slotsare facing“up”according
tothe directionof installation.Reattachthe bracketto thespeak-
ers,if youhave removedit,by reinsertingit intothebracket gap
andthen tighteningthe bracketknobs.
5. Ifyou arecertain thatthereis astud behindthewall surface,
drive#10 screws(not included)throughthe walland intothe
stud[figure 10a].
6. Ifthere isnostudbehindthewall atthe chosenlocation,install
#10wall anchors(not supplied)intothe wallby followingthe
wall-anchor -manufacturer’s i nstructions.Always usetwowall
anchorsand twoscrews perspeaker[figure 10b].
7. Drivescrews intostud o rwall anchors,leavingscrew
headsprotruding 1/8"(3 mm).
3. Avant d’installer l’enceinte, tenez-laà l’endroit choisi pour
vous assurerqu’elle sera suffisammentdégagée duplafond,
des mursadjacents, des coins,des poutres,des luminaires
et descadres de porteset defenêtres.
4. Utilisant lesupport comme gabarit,marquez la p ositiondes
deux fentesen trou deserrure àl’aide d'un crayon.Vous pou-
vez lefaire en retirantles boutonsdu support del’enceinte et
en ladégageant du support,ou enlaissant l’enceinte dansson
support [figure9]. Placez lesupport (positionverticale ou horiz-
ontale auchoix) de façonà ceque la partierétrécie des fentes
en troude serrure s oiten haut. Réinsérezl’enceinte dans
son support(si vous l’avezretirée) etresserrez les boutons
du support.

PAINTING THE CABINET, BRACKET
KNOBS AND BRACKET:
1. Apply twothin coats ofprimer tothe cabinet andknobs.
The bracketdoes not requirea primer.
2. When theprimer is completelydry,apply the finish
color [figure7].
3. When the paint is completely dry, remove
the maskingmaterial.
4. Donot reattachthe speaker tothe bracket untilthe bracket
is mounted.Try tokeep all handlingof freshly paintedparts
toaminimum.
PEINTURE DE L’ENCEINTE, DES SUPPORTS
ET DES BOUTONS DES SUPPORTS:
1. Appliquez deuxminces couches depeinture d’apprêt
aux enceinteset aux boutons.Le support ne requiert
pas d’apprêt.
2. Lorsque lapeinture d’apprêt estcomplètement sèche,
appliquez lapeinture de finition[figure 7].
3. Lorsque lapeinture de finitionest complètement
sèche, retirezles cache-peinture.
4. Installez lesupport au muravant d’y monterl’enceinte.
Évitez autantque possible demanipuler lespièces
fraîchement peintes.
PAINTING THE GRILLE:
1. The grilleof the Atriumspeaker featuresan even, protective
powder coating.This powder coatingis an idealprimer. The
grille featuresan engraved logopod. You canmask this off
or paintright over it.
2. Usingspray paint,spray two thincoats of finishcolor withno
primer [figure8]. If you’reusing acompressor and spraygun,
use thefinest, most diffusesetting. Be carefulnot tofill the
holes inthe grille withpaint.
3. When thepaint is completelydry,carefully fitthe grille into
its recessso that itis just restingon thecabinet. Starting
with onecorner, go aroundthe speakerand push thegrille
into thegrille notch alittle bitat a time.Be gentle; the
grille maybe easily bentout ofshape by roughhandling.
PEINTURE DE LA GRILLE:

mençant parun coin, poussezpetit àpetit la grilledans son
encoche toutautour de l’écran.Soyez délicat,la grille peut
être facilementtordue.
