22 Using Push to Talk
Start at the home screen.
1. Enter the phone number.

Press the walkie-talkie button, scroll through the list, and highlight the
contact you want to call.
-or-
Select Menu
→ Push to Talk, scroll through the list and highlight the contact
you want to call.
2. Highlight Alert at the bottom of the screen and press . If you don’t see
the Alert option, press right to find it.
3. Press and release the walkie-talkie button. The “PTT Outgoing Alert”
tone sounds, and “Alerting” appears on the screen.
If the called party accepts the alert, “Listening” appears on the screen
and you will hear the called party speaking.
If the called party chooses not to accept the call, or if the phone is
unavailable to accept a PTT call, an “unavailable” message appears on
your phone screen.
4. Speak while holding down the walkie-talkie button.
5. Release the walkie-talkie button when finished speaking. This allows the
called party to reply.
