The hub’s Module A
expansion slot can
accept either the
Ethernet Module or the
Fiber Module.
Module A Slot
Ethernet Port:
Use only CAT 5 UTP to
connect to 100Mbps
devices. To connect to
10Mbps devices use CAT
3, 4, or 5 UTP.
Crossover Button: Use
this button to connect to
devices using a straight-
through instead of a
crossover cable.
Duplex Button: Use
this button to set half or
full duplex.
Fiber Ports:
Use 62.5/125-micron fiber
optic cable with an
SC-type connector.
• Unplug the power cord from the hub. Remove
the panel from the small expansion slot
(Module A).
• Align the module with the card guides
inside the hub and slide the module into
the slot. Press firmly to connect the module.
• Use the retaining screws to secure the module,
then plug in the power cord.
• Plug a device into the module’s port.
• Check the Module A LEDs on the front of the
hub to confirm the link status. A solid green
LED indicates a valid link.
• The Ethernet module will auto-negotiate speed
and duplex.
• The Fiber module can connect to devices at
100Mbps at either half or full duplex.
