are shown below and described in
Table 1-1. Depending on your
notebook model, component locations may vary.

Item Component Function
1 Power/standby light* ■ On: Notebook is turned on.
■ Blinking: Notebook is in standby.
■ Off: Notebook is off.
2 Integrated Drive
Electronics (IDE) drive
light
On or blinking: The primary hard drive or an
optical drive is being accessed.
* If the power/standby and battery lights are blinking simultaneously, an
incorrect power supply is connected to the notebook. The power supply should
be disconnected immediately and replaced with the correct power supply.
