Replacing the Water Filter
Ingeneral,youshouldchangethewaterlterevery
six months to ensure the highest possible water
quality.TheWater Filter Status light on the user
interfacepromptsyoutoreplacethelteraftera
standard amount of water (200 gallons/757 liters
for PureSource Ultra
TM
)
hasowedthroughthe
system.Thewaterlterstatuslightonthismodelis
notperformancetestedorcertiedbyNSF.
If your refrigerator has not been used for a period
of time (during moving for example), change the
lterbeforereinstallingtherefrigerator.
Filter Cartridge
Do not use with water that is microbiologically
unsafeorofunknownqualitywithoutadequate
disinfection before or after the system. Systems

disinfectedwatersthatmaycontainlterablecysts.

It is not necessary to turn the water supply off
tochangethelter.Bereadytowipeupany
small amounts of water released during the
lterreplacement.
1 Turn Off the ice maker by raising the wire
signal arm.
2 Removethelterbypushingontheend/
faceofthelter.
3 Slidetheoldwaterltercartridgestraight
out of the housing and discard it.
4 Unpackagethenewltercartridge.Using
the alignment guide, slide it gently into the
lterhousinguntilitstopsagainstthesnap-
in connector at the back of the housing.
5 Push rmly until the cartridge snaps
into place (you should hear a click
as the cartridge engages the snap-in
connector).
6 Turn On the ice maker by lowering the wire
signal arm.
7 Press and hold the Water Filter button on the
Ice & Water Dispenser control panel for three
seconds. When the display changes from Red
to Green, the status has been reset.
8 Afterreplacingthewaterlterandinorderfor
the ice maker to work properly, it is necessary
toclearairfromwaterltertubing.Onceice
maker begins making ice, allow the bucket to
llcompletely,thendiscardtherstTWOFULL
buckets of ice. It will take at least two days
tocompletelyllthebucketonregularice
making mode or 1

days on fast ice mode.
