Tether Strap Installation

Pad
Shell
•Remove the top of the pad from the top of the
car seat shell.
•Fit the end of a blunt object,
such as a screwdriver, into the
end of the metal tube on the
back of the car seat. Pry the
metal tube from the groove in the shell.
•Remove the metal tube from the shoulder straps. Set the
metal tube aside.

•Position the tether strap so that the hook is facing down.
IMPORTANT! If the hook is not facing down, you will
not be able to use the tether strap properly.
•Insert the loop end of the tether strap through the large
slot in the top of the shell, as shown.

IMPORTANT! Before you complete this step – please
take notice of the location you have selected for the
shoulder straps. If the shoulder straps are inserted into
the lower shoulder strap slots – the tether strap will be
inserted through the lower center slot. If the shoulder
straps are inserted into the upper shoulder strap slots –
the tether strap will be inserted through the upper,
center slot.
•Insert the loop end of the tether strap through either
the upper, center slot or the lower, center slot.

•While holding the tether strap in place, carefully fit the
top of the pad back onto the top of the shell.

•Position the plastic grommets so
that the hooked ends are up.
•Re-insert the plastic grommets into
the selected shoulder strap slots.
•Re-insert the shoulder straps through
the plastic grommets and slots in the
shell. Make sure the shoulder straps
are not twisted.

•Turn the car seat around so that the back is facing you.
Fit the metal tube through the loops in the shoulder
straps and tether strap.

•While pushing the plastic grommets from the front of
the car seat (one at a time) tap the metal tube (near
each plastic grommet) into the groove in the shell.
Make sure the metal tube “snaps” into place. The metal
tube should be completely inserted into the groove so
that it is below the surrounding outer surface.
Note: If the metal tube does not “snap” into place or
if the plastic grommets are not secured to the shell, you
probably have not inserted the plastic grommets with
the hooked end up. Please re-read step 6.
