I had a heated discussion with my dad concerning the back on my booster seat. My daughter is 40 inches tall, 41 lbs., & just turned 4. He says she doesn't need the back - I say she most certainly does (this seat will be in his car). I can't find my manual, or anything online telling me whether or not the back needs to be on for a certain lenth of time, etc.
