Placement of the smartphone
To remove a smartphone
Press RELEASE on the main unit.
Be careful not to allow the device to fall.
About the magnetic charging connector
A Sony Xperia smartphone with a magnetic
charging connector can be charged by placing it on
the unit. (Charging indicator on the smartphone
lights up.) If charging is not possible and the
smartphone is in a case, remove the case, and set
the smartphone on the unit again.
Notes
Place your smartphone before driving. A traffic
accident may result if you set a device while driving.
Closing the USB cover is recommended when a
smartphone is placed on the unit.
If a smartphone wobbles on the unit, it may fall from
the unit while driving and cause malfunction. To
prevent this, place the device properly.
Depending on the shape of a smartphone case, the
unit may not hold the smartphone stably and
securely. In such circumstances, remove the
smartphone case.
Be careful not to knock a smartphone, especially
under the following circumstances.
Placing/removing a smartphone.
Pushing down the cradle clamp to secure a
smartphone in place.
Opening/closing the USB cover while a
smartphone is placed on the unit.
Do not forcefully push a smartphone while it is placed
on the unit.
Listening to the Radio
Tuning step setting is required (page 7).
To listen to the radio, press SOURCE to select
[TUNER].
1 Press MODE to change the band (FM1,
FM2, FM3, AM1 or AM2).
2 Press and hold MENU.
3 Press / to select [GENERAL], then
press ENTER.
4 Press / to select [BTM], then press
ENTER.
The unit stores stations in order of frequency on
the number buttons.
1 Press MODE to change the band (FM1,
FM2, FM3, AM1 or AM2).
2 Perform tuning.
To tune manually
Press and hold / to locate the approximate
frequency, then press / repeatedly to fine
adjust to the desired frequency.
To tune automatically
Press /.
Scanning stops when the unit receives a station.
Repeat this procedure until the desired station
is received.
1 While receiving the station that you want
to store, press and hold a number button
(1 to 6) until [MEM] appears.
1 Select the band, then press a number
button (1 to 6).
